Have you ever use public computer, which is not installed with instant messenger softwares, such as Yahoo Messenger and AIM? Probably it is the computer in the library or school computer room. And the worst part is, you cannot install the software because you don’t have enough permission to do that.

If you have such problem, maybe you can give meebo a try. With meebo, you can connect and use your instant messenger just using internet browser, such as Firefox and Internet Explorer.

With meebo, you can adapt quickly with the interface since the interface is designed to look like the messenger software. You can freely drag the friend list window and the chat window.

But, there is a minus point of this service, that I have discovered. The version used by meebo does not support many features like the real messenger software. My friend used meebo to log-in to his Yahoo Messenger account, since he had problem with the software. As a result, I could not send files, load IMviroments and share photos with him.

By the way, it is a acceptable solution for the public computer without messenger software installed.

Have you ever received an automatic message from your email contact, saying that he is not at home and on vacation, so that you do not expect quick reply until your friend backs from vacation. Most of free email providers provide this function to the users. In Yahoo Mail, the steps are not very hard. Below are the instructions.

  1. After logging in to your account, click on the “Options” at the right side of the page.
  2. At the options page, look for “Vacation response” under Management column. Click on the link.
  3. Then, set your vacation’s duration and your message. You can also set optional response for a specific email address domain.
  4. Click “Turn Auto-Response On” button at the bottom. And now you are done.

If you are using GMail, please follow these steps:

  1. After logging in to your Gmail account, click “Setting” on the top of the page.
  2. From the “General” tab, select “Vacation responder on” in the “Vacation responder” section.
  3. Set the subject and your message
  4. If you want to response only to the people in your contacts, tick the “Only send a response to people in my Contacts” option.
  5. Then, click “Save Changes” and you are done.

Please take into account that no time frame setting is required in Gmail. Therefore, please don’t forget to deactivate the vacation responder after you are back from your holiday.

Okay, it is time to pack your bag. Happy Holiday!

Use your talent and creativity to make money

Have you ever see people selling their painting at the street? Do you know how much can they sell? Actually, those people are great and very talented, but the way they promote their paintings is somehow not effective. If they can offer their artworks to all people in the world with reasonable prices, I am pretty sure that they will make more money because the target group is bigger and the medium to communicate is almost boundless.

Yesterday, I have came across this great video in YouTube of a guy drawing Mona Lisa using just MS Paint.

Being curious to see other videos from him, I checked out his profile and saw that he is actually a great artist. At the end of his videos, he puts his web address, which will lead to an eBay page. There he sells his portrait drawings and you can also buy a custom made portrait. Looking at his feedback score, I assumed that he had made about 48 sales in his store. Making money doing something we love to do is the best way in earning money.

The way he promote his business is a great idea. Using the phenomenon of youtube to attract the customers to your store is just brilliant. Look how much hits the video got, 454636 views with outstanding 2698 comments.

Now, it is time to turn your hobby into money making machine.
