Wordpress fadtastic theme by Andrew Faulkner
I’ve came across this Wordpress theme at my Wordpress.com blog. Fadtastic is a clean Wordpress theme by Andrew Faulkner and the recently added theme by Wordpress.com and I like it. With three columns, it gives you more spaces in your blog to expand your creativity. You can put your AdSense Skyscrapper on the middle column.

Besides, it have another section at the bottom, which displays Blogroll by default. This section can be manipulated according to your creativity. You can see the customized version of this theme on the theme page itself. Here!

With unfixed width, it gives your readers the comfortability of reading your blog with any screen resolution. The sidebars remain fixed, while the content can expand to fill your monitor.

Andrew Faulkner said that his theme is rather nicely Search Engine Optimized. I am quite agree with that. The post title uses h1 tag, which you can hardly find in any other themes. Others use h1 tag for the main header. Moreover, Fadtastic works fine with any browsers.

Do consider to change your Wordpress theme for new year 2007. :)

Wikia – a brand new concept of search engine

This project of new search engine has the codename Wikiasari, a combination of wiki, the Hawaiian word for quick, and asari, which is Japanese for “rummaging search”.

Mr Wales, the founder of Wikipedia is the man behind this project, said to The Times that Wikia will be launched in the first Quarter of next year.

According to Mr Wales, Google has many flaws in their search engine technology because it is too computer based.

“Google is very good at many types of search, but in many instances it produces nothing but spam and useless crap. Try searching for the term ‘Tampa hotels’, for example, and you will not get any useful results,” he said.

“Essentially, if you consider one of the basic tasks of a search engine, it is to make a decision: ‘this page is good, this page sucks’,” Mr Wales said. “Computers are notoriously bad at making such judgments, so algorithmic search has to go about it in a roundabout way.

“But we have a really great method for doing that ourselves,” he added. “We just look at the page. It usually only takes a second to figure out if the page is good, so the key here is building a community of trust that can do that.”

The question is, can Wikia catch up with other established search engines like Google, Yahoo!, or Live? What do you think?
