Filem Rock 2005
ROCK is about a group of young teenagers in a rock band, who wanted to be a famous rock band in 80’s. The main character is Zubir a.k.a Zack, with his friends Jijo (bass), Black (drum) and Amy (vocal) faced many obstacles to become a successful rock band (Rimba Bara).
My first impression was: This movie would reveal the history and the scene of 80’s rock era. But I was wrong. This movie is just a comedy movie, which I think had been affected much by Stephen Chow’s films (the exaggerating jokes and the funny impressions of the actors). For those who love Stephen Chow’s movies, this is the Malay version.
But at the cost of RM1.4 million, I think that they should produce better film.

What is Geisha?
Geisha (芸者 “person of the arts”) are traditional Japanese artist-entertainers. The word Geiko is also used to describe such persons. Geisha were very common in the 18th and 19th centuries, and are still in existence today, although their numbers are dwindling. “Geisha,” pronounced /ˈgeɪ ʃa/ (”gay-sha”) is the most familiar term to English speakers, and the most commonly used within Japan as well, but in the Kansai region the terms geigi and, for apprentice geisha, “Maiko” have also been used since the Meiji Restoration.
The film “Memoirs of Geisha” will be screened in Malaysia on 19-Jan-06. Make sure you don’t miss it if you are interested to know about Geisha. Dato’ Michelle Yeoh is one of the actress. The others are Ziyi Zhang and Gong Li.
But, all of them are CHINESE not Japanese.
